The Sanctification Survey
Presently I am gathering data regarding the relationship between Christian doctrine and personal experience. Specifically, I am looking for respondants who represent the reformed faith tradition. Please consider taking just three minutes to fill out a simple check-the-box SURVEY (here).
More on The Project
The goal at this stage of the project is to get a vast amount of input from believers in Christ regarding whether their experience bears out what they believe in terms of the doctrine of sanctification. By far the prevailing perspective in the church today is the progressive view. What I began to question in the past handful of years is whether I am "really and personally" being sanctified such that sin progressively weakens over time, and my holiness progressively grows over time.
There are two things that I believe make this study of unique benefit for the church. First, the study is not an inquiry regarding individual's apprehension of various proof texts that may seem to support the progressive view. The survey merely asks about your beliefs and experience in this regard. Second, it is not a work that is, in effect, a theory of the relationship between faith and life--nor will it be an application book from cover-to-cover. The point of this work is to explore the pervasiveness and the implications of inconguity between our affirmations and our personal experience. Thank you for taking time to weigh in through the survey, and please weigh in here with more of your thoughts in this regard. Blessings to you! Dale
